Van Window Fitting
Cutting and bonding glass into a panel van is the difference between a dark box and a usable crew vehicle. We fit fixed, sliding and privacy glass into van side panels, sliding doors and tailgates, bonded into the original aperture so the finish is tidy and the seal is right first time.
Windows are usually fitted alongside a seat or crew cab conversion, but we are happy to quote for glass on its own.
What we fit
- Fixed windows. The standard choice for a second row. Clean lines, no moving parts, nothing to go wrong.
- Sliding windows. Ventilation without opening a door, useful for crews working in and out of the van all day.
- Privacy glass. Darkened glass that keeps tools and passengers out of view. Fitted to the rear of the vehicle in line with the legal limits on tinting.
- Tailgate and barn door glass. Rear vision for reversing and a lighter load area.
- Bonded aperture work. Cut, primed, sealed and finished so the glass sits like a factory unit.

The per van listings are live now. Each one shows a fitted price per pane, so you can choose the exact glass you need and see what it costs before you call. Every glass position is listed separately, front and rear side panes, fixed or sliding, plus barn door glass priced per door and tailgate glass where the van has one.

Positions are named nearside and offside, where nearside is the kerb or passenger side, and where the glass differs by wheelbase the wheelbase forms part of the position name.
The order form asks for the registration, year and wheelbase so we can check the exact vehicle before the glass is ordered.

Where the work is carried out
Our workshop
Most glazing is carried out at our workshop at Unit 26, Waterhouse Business Centre, 2 Cromar Way, Chelmsford CM1 2QE, and it is what we recommend. Bonded glass is done under cover at a controlled temperature, and the cutting, bonding and curing are all handled in one visit.
Fitting at your premises
Fitting at your own premises can be considered where the van can be worked on in an enclosed indoor space rather than outdoors, and where the inside of the van is clear at the aperture, with no cabinets, carpet or racking in the way. Bonded glass has to be cut, primed and cured in a clean, dry, temperature controlled space, and a seal cured in the wrong conditions is not worth fitting, which is why the conditions matter. The bond cures within an hour of application, so the van is not off the road long. Send your postcode with your enquiry and we will confirm it case by case when we quote.
Fleet work
For fleets we batch vehicles so the same specification is repeated across every van, with one price per unit and consolidated VAT invoicing.
How the process works
- Send us the details. Vehicle, which apertures, fixed or sliding, clear or privacy glass.
- We quote in writing. Glass, fitting and lead time.
- You book a date. We order the model specific glass for your vehicle.
- We cut, bond and finish. Most vans are a same day job.
- Handover with aftercare notes.
Aftercare
Leave the adhesive to cure as instructed at handover, avoid pressure washing directly at the new seals for the first few days, and do not slam doors with the windows closed while the bond is still green. We hand over written aftercare notes with the vehicle.
