Van Racking and Roof Rack Fitting
A van that is not racked out costs time on every job. Tools live on the floor, stock gets damaged, and the first twenty minutes of every call goes on finding things. Racking fixes that on day one.
We supply trade racking, shelving and roof rack systems, and we fit them at our workshop in Chelmsford, Essex. Buy the kit on its own if you would rather fit it yourself.
What we supply and fit
- Trade van racking and shelving. Nearside, offside or complete kits, sized to the load area of your van rather than cut down from something generic.
- Roof racks and roof bars. Including ULTI Rack+ systems, mounted to the vehicle's proper fixing points.
- Roof access. Rear ladders and roller bars for loading long items safely.
- Ply lining and load area protection. Floor and panel protection so the van still has a resale value at the end of the lease.
- Load restraint. Lashing points, straps and securing so nothing moves under braking.
Racking is vehicle specific. We hold kits for the Ford Transit Custom 2023 onwards and ULTI Rack+ roof racks for the Citroen Dispatch and Relay, and we can source systems for the other mainstream vans. Send us the make, model, wheelbase and roof height with your enquiry.

Where the work is carried out
Our workshop
Fitting is done at our Chelmsford workshop. Most racking installs are a same day job, and the van goes back to work the following morning.
Supply only
Every kit we fit can be bought on its own and delivered to you, with a VAT invoice. If you want to fit it yourself, that is a perfectly sensible way to save money.
Fleet work
For fleets we record the specification once and repeat it across every vehicle, so the second van is laid out exactly like the first. Fixed price per unit and consolidated VAT invoicing.
How the process works
- Send us the details. Make, model, year, wheelbase, roof height and what the van carries.
- We quote in writing. Kit, fitting and lead time, or supply only if you prefer.
- You book a date. We order the kit for your vehicle.
- We fit it. Most racking installs are a single day.
- Handover. With the paperwork and a VAT invoice.
Why Pro-Van

Common questions
Can I buy the racking without the fitting?
Yes. Every kit we fit can be bought on its own and delivered to you with a VAT invoice. Tell us the vehicle and we will make sure the kit that arrives is the right one for it.
How long does a racking install take?
Most single vehicle installs are a same day job, so the van is back at work the following morning. Racking combined with ply lining, glass or a crew cab conversion takes longer, and we quote the honest figure with the booking date.
Will racking damage the van?
Fitted properly it should not. Racking is bolted to structural points and load checked rather than screwed into trim panels. If the van is on lease or contract hire, tell us at the quote stage so we can talk through what is removable and what the return condition is likely to be.
Do you fit racking I have bought elsewhere?
Usually yes, provided the kit is complete and made for your vehicle. Send us the make and part numbers with your enquiry and we will confirm before you book a date.
What about roof racks and ladders?
We fit roof bars, full roof rack systems including ULTI Rack+, rear ladders and roller bars. Everything is mounted to the vehicle's proper fixing points and load checked before the van leaves us.
Can you do the whole fleet the same way?
Yes. We record the layout once and repeat it across every vehicle, schedule in batches so you are never short of vans, and invoice on consolidated VAT invoices.
