Where is the work carried out?
At our workshop in Chelmsford, Essex. The vehicle is under cover for the whole job, we have the lift, the tooling and the diagnostic kit, and anything unexpected gets dealt with on the spot. Drop off and collection are booked to a fixed date.
Some straightforward work can be done at your premises by arrangement. It depends on the vehicle, the specification and having somewhere dry and suitable to work, so we confirm it case by case when we quote. Send your postcode with your enquiry.
How long does a conversion take?
Most seat conversions and crew cab conversions are a one to two day job once the vehicle is with us. Window work is usually a single day. Accessory fitting is often booked in and out on the same day. Lead time to the booking date depends on parts availability for your vehicle, and we quote a realistic date rather than an optimistic one.
Do you handle fleets and trade work?
Yes. We schedule fleet work in batches so you are never short of vehicles, quote a fixed price per unit and issue consolidated VAT invoices. Repeat specifications are recorded so every vehicle comes back identical. We also fit on a trade basis for dealers and brokers preparing vehicles before handover.
Will a conversion affect my insurance, tax or V5C?
It can. Changing the number of seats in a vehicle can change how it is taxed, insured and recorded. Tell your insurer before the work is done, notify DVLA if the seat count on the V5C changes, and check with your accountant if the vehicle is treated as a commercial vehicle for tax. We will tell you exactly what applies to your vehicle when we quote, and you leave with the fitting paperwork for your records.
Do you fit parts I have bought elsewhere?
Yes, we fit accessories and kits you have bought elsewhere as well as parts we supply. Send us the part or the part number with your enquiry so we can confirm it fits your vehicle before you book a date. Parts we supply carry their manufacturer warranty and the paperwork comes with the vehicle.
How do I get a price?
